Photo Society

Whether you’ve been shooting underwater for years or are just starting to explore underwater photography, the Undersea Divers Photo Society is a welcoming community for you. Our Photo Society brings together divers of all experience levels who share a passion for capturing life beneath the surface.

Each month, we gather to explore underwater photography through presentations, shared images, and group discussion. Members and guest presenters showcase their work, talk through their creative approach, share editing tips, and offer insight into techniques ranging from point-and-shoot basics to more advanced shooting and composition. Just as important, Photo Society is a place to ask questions, learn from others, and get inspired.

The meetings are hosted by Andrew Martinez, a local photographer best known for the Marine Life of the North Atlantic app, alongside Whitney Boyle, owner of Undersea Divers. All photography levels are welcome — and you don’t even need to take photos yourself to attend. Many participants simply enjoy learning, engaging in discussion, and viewing incredible underwater imagery.

This month’s Photo Society meeting brings together four presenters and three very different sides of underwater photography!

We’ll start with a practical look at photo printing for the casual photographer, exploring options that balance quality and cost so you can get your favorite images off your screen and into print.

Then, we’re heading to the Philippines to take a closer look at why it’s such an incredible destination for macro photography and the tiny, unusual marine life that makes it a photographer’s dream.

Finally, we’ll explore adding models to your underwater images and how incorporating a diver into the frame can add scale, perspective, and a whole new creative element to your shots.

Three topics, three presenters, and plenty of ideas to inspire your next photo. Whether you’re shooting, editing, or finally printing those images!
