Job Description
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Retail & Dive Operations Associate who is passionate about scuba diving and thrives in a close-knit team environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proactive mindset, capable of working independently and delivering results, while checking in and asking questions when needed. Responsibilities/Duties/Essential Functions

  • Sales and Customer Service: Generate in person sales across all product categories, provide exceptional customer service, assist with product selection, address customer concerns, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Inventory Management: Stock, replenish, and price merchandise, manage inventory levels, and perform regular stock checks.
  • Store Operations: Ensure the store is opened and closed on time, maintain cleanliness and presentation, and handle basic cleaning and general maintenance.
  • Transaction Handling: Complete sales transactions accurately, maintain proper cash accountability, and process refunds, exchanges, and transfers.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of scuba gear and accessories; stay current with product knowledge and industry trends through regular training.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the owner on retail operations, collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment, and contribute to driving store traffic and meeting sales quotas.
  • Additional Duties: Fill tanks, conduct visual tank inspections, prepare and clean rental gear, and assist with phone calls, emails, and bookings.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires working on your feet most of the day, especially in the summer
  •  Ability to lift/carry 40+ pounds on a regular basis (scuba tanks/weight belts)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred. We value diverse educational backgrounds and are open to candidates with degrees in various disciplines. In lieu of a degree, 3 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.
  • Minimum 1 year of retail experience or in a customer facing position
  • Open Water Diver Certification or higher

  • Ability to work effectively in a small team, contributing to a friendly and collaborative workplace culture. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for connecting with customers and building relationships.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all tasks and responsibilities are handled with accuracy and care.
  • Proficient in Word & Excel and the willingness to learn our POS system quickly
  • Be able to multi-task while maintaining composure in a high paced environment
  • Passionate about scuba diving and the ocean

Work Location: In Person, Danvers MA
Work Remote: No
Hourly Range: $22 - $30 (Based on experience)


Commitment: Minimum 1 year


Sample Schedule:

  • Year Round
  • Weekends a must
  • Summer Hours (Approximately 36 hours a week): Tuesday 10am – 6pm, Wednesday 10am -6pm, Friday 10am – 6pm, Saturday 10am – 5pm, Sunday 10am -3pm
  • Winter Hours (Approximately 30 hours a week): Wednesday 11am – 5pm, Thursday 11am – 5pm, Friday 11am – 6pm, Saturday 10am -5pm, Sunday 10am -3pm
