ABOUT LITTLE CAYMAN
Little Cayman is located only 80 miles northeast of Grand Cayman, yet it feels worlds away. Nowhere in the Cayman Islands can you find a better dive destination that’s also a romantic getaway. The island’s 150 residents (when everyone’s home) happily welcome you to their serene and safe island. Little Cayman Beach Resort’s Beach Nuts Bar is the island hot spot, especially on karaoke night. If you’re more into peace and quiet, then your idea of island Zen might be enjoying a drink with someone special in a secluded niche on the property or lying in hammock on the beach to count stars in the clear night sky. You can leave your hurry behind, because you’ll be on Little Cayman Island time. In addition to world-class diving, you can rent a kayak and visit nearby Owen’s Island for some snorkeling; tour the Central Caribbean Marine Institute and learn how they’re studying and saving reefs; grab a bike and go exploring; or just read a book in the shade of the palm trees that surround our pool and beach. Little Cayman Beach Resort is an intimate, oceanfront resort with only 40 rooms. The friendly staff immediately make you feel at home as you settle into a casual lifestyle with a relaxed atmosphere, great diving, and dining on sumptuous Caribbean-inspired meals in their dining room or al fresco on their screened porch.
THE DIVING
Little Cayman is a big deal for divers around the globe. The island is one of the world’s top dive destinations with more than 50 outstanding dive sites. Divers rave about the famed Bloody Bay Wall, pristine coral reefs, stunning marine life, and perfect diving conditions year-round. Thanks to the dive experts at Reef Divers valet diving service and a well-appointed dive shop, you’ll have everything you need for this adventure.
Reef Divers provide the personalized valet dive services that many of our guests don’t even know they want until they experience it.
Reef Divers takes the work out of your diving—handling the heavy lifting and care of your boat-dive gear, from your first dive through your last dive (unless you’d prefer to do it yourself). They rinse, dry, and store your BCD and regulator daily, so they’re set up and ready for your next day’s diving. The only finger you’ll have to lift is the one to point out your gear as you relax in the boat, ready to go diving. At the top of the dock, we have separate rinse tanks for photo equipment, wetsuits, and general dive gear, plus a drying room for wetsuits so you don’t have to take them to your room.
Cayman Islands diving is mostly current-free, which is optimal for new divers, divers who wants to move at their own pace, and underwater photographers who may want to spend their entire dive at one location, waiting for the perfect shot. All of the dive sites are moored, which marks the beginning and ending points of that dive. The dive masters will brief the location, establish dive limits, and draw a map of the tour they’ll lead. As long as divers remain in buddy teams and stick with the predetermined limits, it’s their option to follow the tour or go off on their own. For those who follow, the tour lasts 35 to 40 minutes. By the time they’re back at the mooring and know that the boat is overhead, most divers feel comfortable enough to continue exploring on their own until their time is up or they run low on air. Dinners have a different theme every evening, featuring new and delicious soups, appetizers, salads, vegetables, starches, and hot entrées. Most nights also feature some type of specialty carving station. And there’s always a selection of fabulous desserts to top off a great meal. Coffee, tea, and fruit punch are complimentary. The new dining room also has an indoor bar for enjoying cocktails before dinner or espressos, lattes, or other specialty coffees after dessert. The bar is generally only open during dinner hours.
Beach Nuts Bar
The resort also features a VERY fun beach bar. Food and beverages are available from the bar menu at our outdoor Beach Nuts Bar. On certain nights, they have fun games like bingo and trivia—for prizes and bragging rights among your friends. Or, search the beach for a piece of driftwood and get some paint at the bar to create your own “I was here” sign to add to our growing collection on the bar walls and ceiling. (Ask Shaun to point out what driftwood signs we have left there before!) And everyone who’s home on the island Friday nights comes to karaoke night to show off their talent—or just to show off.
